Typical of the Caribbean region, the islands enjoy warm, tropical weather throughout the year. The dry season, usually between December and May, brings lower humidity and minimal rainfall, with daytime temperatures ranging from 24 to 30°C (75–86°F). During the wet season, from June to November, humidity rises and rainfall becomes more frequent, with daytime highs of 29 to 32°C (84–90°F). Many Caribbean islands lie within or near the Atlantic hurricane belt, so while most storms are mild, the region can experience tropical storms and hurricanes during this season.
Most travellers prefer to visit the Caribbean during the dry season, from December to April, when sunny days, warm temperatures and lower rainfall make it perfect for beach days, outdoor adventures, and the many lively festivals and cultural events held across the islands.
For those seeking fewer crowds, more affordable holidays, or the lush greenery at its peak, the wet season from June to November can be an ideal time to explore the Caribbean, despite higher humidity and occasional rain showers or tropical storms.
Whenever you travel, it’s useful to know that many Caribbean islands have their own currencies, often linked or pegged to the US Dollar. Banks and ATMs typically dispense local currency, with most accepting major credit cards and some offering cash withdrawals on debit cards. This makes it relatively easy to access funds while enjoying everything from local markets to resort amenities.
